TraceRoute who?
This week assignment, I did the traceroute assignment on three different websites that I frequent most. First was my personal website, www.ridwanmadon.com, followed by www.singaporeair.com, Singapore Airlines website and last but not least, I was curious to look at a website from my home country so I looked at my bank in Singapore, www.ocbc.com.sg
For my traceroute process, I used terminal and I www.iplocation.net/ to track the location.

For my website I had 64 hops, it was hosted in Ashburn, Virigina so there wasn't much of a distance covered.

For my website I had 64 hops, ironically, even though it was a singaporeairlines website, it was hosted in Switzerland. It made me curious why they would host their website in Switzerland rather than in Singapore.

Traceroute Comparison
The traceroute from home to my website was relative the same as NYU. So there wasn't much to compare.

Traceroute Comparison
I was disappointed to observe that the traceroute from home ended with akamaitechnologies (an American content delivery network and cloud service provider headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in the United States).

Traceroute Comparison
I was surprised to observe the comparison between the two places that I did my traceroute for. It was a direct line from New York to Singapore when I traceroute at home as compared to when I was in NYU.
