Expressive Interfaces: Sketches
This week, we were tasked to make sketches and think of possible outcomes that revolves around our senses. When thinking and conceptualizing my ideas, I was sensitive to how the user would interact with the piece, how it should function and how the people surrounding the user would react.
I started to conceptualize and sketch starting with our sense of sight. I love sleeping in and forget about setting an alarm for myself. However, I will always feel bad if most of my time was spent sleeping, I will feel very unproductive and regret my decision. I thought of creating a eye-mask that has a light sensor with small vibrators surrounding the eye-mask.
Persona
Someone who loves to sleep in but doesn't want to face the guilt of sleeping in too much.
Motivation
The eye-mask replaces the use of an alarm to a light sensor that detects sunlight. The piece is meant to be used only at night.
Goal
To allow the user to sleep in as much and only have the vibrators triggered when sunlight is detected.
